Overview
The 80-ton assault 'Mech designated the 'Tallyman' by Republic Intelligence is believed to be a 'terror 'Mech' designed for the elite Death Commandos of the Capellan Confederation. The Tallyman is a design with one goal in mind: To cross the battlefield and devastate their opponents in short range and melee combat, quickly and brutally dispatching its target before disappearing. SIS intelligence efforts have recovered House Liao documents giving the official Capellan designation for this design as the Temujin T1-M1N.
However, no official acknowledgement of the design has been made by House Liao or any other branch of the Capellan Government at this time. Very little is known of the development history of the Temujin, but it has been theorized that the Temujin is an evolution of various close-combat conversions of the Charger 'Scout Assault' 'Mech, particularly a CDG-2A Cudgel and other designs that improved the Charger's speed and melee capabilities. The first evidence of a new design came in 3142, when investigation by both the Ghost Knights and DMI confirmed the clandestine testing of a new Capellan Assault 'Mech, alongside the development of black-site training and construction facilities under heavy guard.
Since that date, almost all of the evidence outside parties of the Temujinâs capabilities have come from recovered âblack boxâ recordings instead of direct observation, both limiting assessment, and leading the âMech to be considered something of a âbogeymanâ to forces operating along the Capellan border. Most recently, details recovered by the Wolf Empire Watch from SIS/Ghost Knight archives on Terra have led them to suspect that âTallymanâ âMechs may be responsible for several âbandit attacksâ and disappearances in the Sirius, Pollux and Caph systems. What this means for Capellan intentions regarding the Wolf Empire and the ilKhan are, at the time of writing, unknown.
Capabilities
Thanks to the use of an XL Engine alongside a Supercharger and Triple Strength Myomer (TSM), the Temujin is incredibly fast for an 80-ton 'Mech, a potential maximum speed of nearly 152 km/h allowing it to cross the battlefield in a way few assault 'Mechs can match. The ability to jump 150 meters only adds to the designâs incredible maneuverability.
15 tons of Stealth Armour goes some way towards mitigating the vulnerability of the Temujin's massive engine both due to direct armor protection and because of the impact the designâs low-observable and ECM features have on enemy attempts to target it. A total of 8 ER Medium Lasers gives the 'Mech formidable short-range firepower, but this needs to be managed carefully to get the most out of the âMechâs heat-dependant TSM at the same time prevent overheating, particularly if operating with its stealth baffles engaged.
However, the most formidable weapon in the âMechâs arsenal is a collapsible âMech-scale Hatchet on the Temujinâs left arm that can be stowed when not in use to maintain the designâs stealth characteristics. Thanks to the inclusion of a melee weapon, when running hot enough to activate its TSM enhancements, the Temujin is capable of terrifying damage in close combat. Recovered wreckage and black box records suggest that a strike from a fully optimized Temujin in melee could breach the center torso of an Atlas, and likely obliterate many medium and light âMechs.
Deployment
So far, only a handful of Temujin 'mechs have been observed, all of them in the possession of high-ranking or otherwise respected Death Commando operatives. On the few recorded deployments of this 'Mech, The Temujin is often deployed as a psychological weapon, ambushing from stealth, quickly eliminating one or more vulnerable opponents then using its speed and maneuverability to disengage.
