Fans of Life is Strange will recognise Max’s signature yellow instant camera. This 3D printable version, may not be able to capture any photo, but it does come with a folding flash, and is as accurate to the game as possible.
The 3D printable version has been broken down into its separate colour components, which can be easily assembled. Most parts can simply be plugged together, and won’t fall apart. While the other parts, such as the flat panels, can be stuck in with glue, double sided tape, or even blue-tack.
This was a project for the talented cosplayer Danielle Debs from Sydney, Australia. Check out her work!
The most complex part of this is the flash assembly, and how this holds the two body parts together.
- The flash body and flash hinge are joined together by the flash hinge pin. The pin can then be hidden with the end caps.
- The hinge part of the flash assembly can then be pushed through the diagonal gap in the two body parts. When holding the front body and back body parts together you will see how this cavity aligns. This can be more difficult if the cavity hasn’t printed well, so some cleaning may be required as per your discretion. If you are unsure, try pushing the hinge part through the separate body parts individually.
By pinning the body parts together, this reduces the amount of glue required, and makes it easier if a part needs replacing.
