Medusa - The DIY Mood Lamp
Medusa - The DIY Mood Lamp

This is a remix for Electromaker Kits Competition, based on LED Mood Lamp - Kit.
The main concept was to design the lamp what is easy to print even for beginner users and/or with less performant printers.
The lamp is using modern shapes to imitate the shape of a jelly fish. The stem and the interface are built from hexagonal shapes and the shade is made round barrel like with panels.
Unfortunately at this moment the model is not printed on 100%, so I could not assemble to its final form but I have made a few renderings to see how it should look like after it is assembled. The draft parts were ok to print and to assemble.
Color Recommendation:For maximum visual/lighting experience please take the following advice in consideration.
The model look most elegant if you print the black&white version (see the pictures for reference).
Most important that the shade should be white color (or bone color-yellowish white) filament. The reason why it is strongly recommended doing it so because by this the colorful lighting can prevail its real beauty.
Assembly instructions:
-Wiring: Before gluing together each part first pull the wiring through the pair of components. If you do not do it, it might be possible that you not will be able to guide the wires through the fixed components.
-Gluing: When putting the lamp together use the alignment hexagon mark on the "Interface" part and "Spiral_Stem". (fitted correctly together the two halves will form a hexagonal form). This will help with the correct orientation/alignment otherwise you will not be able to wire the lamp.
Use superglue to fix the parts together.
In case of problems with the model contact me and I will fix it.
Happy 3D printing! :)
EDIT:
2020.04.23.
The stem was reuploaded, thin walls corrected. "Spiral_stemV2.stl" needs to be used.
You can use whatev er material you are able to print. :)
Print it with max. 0.4 line width, with 2 perimeters max. and with ZERO infill, this will help the light to pass through the shade easier. Do not forget to enable bridging as well.
