Description

I downloaded a really handsome AMS cable tidy guide recently that was real popular and kinda shaped like Texas. But once I printed it I found a few issues for my particular use case-- one, I needed it to support using an AMS riser. Two, I wanted it to have clearance for quick release buttons at the AMS junction box. And three, the feed lines didn't quite line up with the AMS junction box on the back of the printer. So I gave it a bit of thought and realised that I could support more use cases by using a couple control points instead of set curves as cable guides, and measured out the most precise feed lines that I could so the PTFE feed tube leads perfectly into the junction box. The upper guide for the AMS power/data cable is segmented so you can exit the run at multiple points if you're running an AMS riser taller or lower than my own. I included models with and without branding so you can look as basic or extra as you like; and there are versions that support 12mm x 1.5 magnets (nominally 12mm x 2mm but I find most of them are 1.5mm deep) and versions without, in case you want to use some double sided tape to further secure it. I hope some of you might find this design useful, thanks for looking and have a great day!

ASSEMBLY NOTE-- you'll remove the AMS junction box to install this. Remove the two screws, disconnect the PTFE tubes (at the Bowden connector entering the printer, and at the junction box leading from the AMS). Slide the outflow PTFE tube through the channel exiting the junction box toward the printer, then reattach the junction box to the printer with the original screws and reconnect everything else. Slide the feed PTFE tube through its channel to the junction box. Voila!

UPDATE!

Hi guys! Had a few requests to try my hand at a similar idea for the AMS hub for users with more than one AMS unit. Took me a bit to figure it out after I received my hub from Bambu, but the model is uploaded now on Makerworld. Here it is if you need it, cheers! https://makerworld.com/en/models/399409#profileId-300929

Shoutout to KobaRiley for inspiring this model. I modeled this from scratch and I feel it approaches the problem in a different manner so I'm not labeling it a remix, but I wouldn't have had the idea for it without trying his cable tidy. So thank you, friend, for your model!

Printed in ASA and I am very happy with this part! The bowden tubes and wires line up perfectly, and the result is very clean.

I printed this product a while ago and I have to say this is one of the best mods on my printer so far. This works so well. Since installing this mod, I have not had any AMS withdrawal problems anymore. Thank you 1000x.
