One of the most prolific type of small arm employed by the Imperium of Man. Lasgun operates by expelling high-density, focused photons that disintegrate unprotected surface it made contact with. The Galaxy-pattern lasgun first appeared in the 35th millenium and due to its simplicity and adaptability of its platform was quickly adopted by many regiments of diverse origin, befitting its name.
Standard Galaxy lasgun are favored by line infantry regiments such as Mordian and Praetorian because the rifle length and sturdiness ensures that soldier firing in ranks won't accidentally shoot his friends in the head and made for a perfect spear/club when engaging in melee. Light infantry such as Catachan and scout unit are equipped with lighter lascarbine to reduce weight on patrol. Armageddon developed the Voss ultra-compact lasgun to equip its mechanized infantry. Other modification and patterns based on the Galaxy can be found all over the Imperium.
This is a 23-parts printable model, based on 3rd edition Catachan and 2nd edition metal guards. Model with standard barrel will have equivalent length to a WWI-era carbine, while carbine barrel make it similar to cold war battle rifle. Other barrel length are not measured to any real world weapons and just based on reference picture. For use in miniature kitbash, downsize the full model either to 46% or 22% for heroic and realistic scale respectively, trimming either the grip or stock might be required. For 1/18 scale action figure (JoyToy etc) scale it to 66%. For use in cosplay or full-size display scale it up by 1200%, but you'll need to separate and hollow the model by yourself.
Wire stock for Voss lasgun needs to be printed with care due to lack of thickness. No glue are required for assembly but is still recommended.
