Description

Summary

Inspired by vintage blow molded lights, and user "mxfaiman" version of the vintage lights.

I tried to capture some other shapes evocative of other blow molded patio lights that I was so used to seeing at camp grounds when I was young, and I will add more here as I get through them. These can use almost any kind of string light with this adapter. It can fit regular C7 bulbs, and can also fit the 40mm, globe style bulbs that use the same socket as C7 (It looks like these are known as G40 bulbs). Keep the wattage low or get LED versions of C7 so the covers don't melt.

Print the "shell" with no top, no infill, and 2 or 3 walls/shells.

Tips:
Print the Ice Cream scoop with 0 top and 0 bottom layers.
Print the Ice Cream Cone with 0 bottom and 2 or 3 top layers.
The windmill blades have to be printed flat and glued on afterward. Or modify them with a hole that will mount on the base.
I think you get the idea how this works.

The "adapter" can be printed at 10% infill. The adapter has an outer diameter of 70mm. Superglue it on top of the shell once you have both done.

Making your own shells is simple enough, just get a model in about the right proportions (100mm tall, with a top roughly 70x70mm), print it hollow with no top, and superglue the adapter on top.
