Description

Important Note! - If you are not using bambu matte filament, I recommend you use the thicker colour version of the ornament, since a lot of yellow filaments out there are quite transparent!

*UPDATE 1 : I have added a scaled down but thicker version without the loop which is freestanding. A great little stocking filler if I do say so myself ;)

*UPDATE 2 : Following feedback that highlighted a transparency issue when using different filaments, I created a version of the ornament where the colours are 2 layers thicker than the original version to make it more opaque and reduce the chance of being able to see infill. If you still have issues with this version, I recommend changing the “Backing” object to the colour white, as it will have less of an effect when viewed through the yellow filament.

You will need four colours for this: Red, White, Black, Yellow

I used bambu matte filaments for the one I made for the pictures.

For the best surface quality, print face down on a textured bed.

Love the idea, but unfortunately the black grid infill shows up pretty clearly through the white and yellow areas of the pattern. I'm trying it again with 100% infill and more top shell layers, but I wish the color extended further down than just the top 2 layers (or maybe if the infill was white instead of black?). Edit: Updated the review from 4 to 5 stars due to updated design and discussion with the very responsive designer/uploader.

Thanks for the feedback! out of curiosity what brand of filament are you using? It would be good to know for my own knowledge, since different brands of filament have different optical transparency. The Bambu matte filaments shown in the picture for this do not show the infill. I deliberately only used two layers to minimise colour changes and print time, however perhaps I could create an alternative version for more optically transparent filament :)

Hi! The red I'm using is Bambu Matte, the other 3 colors are all Bambu PLA Basic. I've got matte white I can throw in and use, but the only yellow I have is the basic unfortunately.

Interesting that the bambu matte is seemingly much more opaque than the bambu basic! Thanks for the info! when I get some free time tomorrow I'll create a version where the coloured parts are thicker. In the meantime if you wanted to try your white infill idea, you could change the colour of this part of the model under objects in bambu slicer

Hi there, Thanks for bringing the issue with the ear to my attention, I have now fixed this issue and updated the files for this print profile. I'm not sure what you mean about the tail, the bottom section being red is deliberate to mimic the brown lower section of pikachu's tail, while only using 4 colours. If you are able to use a 5th colour in your setup, you can change the lower tail to brown under objects in bambu slicer :)

Hi there, there is a version on the model page with thicker colours if you are using more transparent filaments than those I mentioned on the description (bambu matte). If you continue to have issues with the thicker colour version, you may also change the backing colour to white under objects in bambu slicer.
