Description
Embark on a journey to a galaxy far, far away with this coaster inspired by those available from Oga's Cantina on Batuu Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge – the perfect companion for your favorite drinks! Whether you lean towards the light or embrace the dark side.
Overview
This set of six coasters is inspired by those available at Oga's Cantina on Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at both Disney World and Disneyland California. This core set of six can be printed alongside a limited edition set of four designs, which are no longer available in the parks, and complemented by the coaster display stand. Both other models are available in my profile.

Printing Tips:
Most coasters share the same four colors: White, Black, Dark Red/Maroon, and Tan.
The Cantina Code coaster uses Light and Dark Purple, as well as Tan.
The Star Liner coaster uses Grey and White.
Printing with an AMS is necessary for optimal results.
The print profiles automatically assign colors to the coasters. Before printing, ensure that you've placed your filament in the corresponding slots of the AMS according to the 3MF file.
Ensure your print surface is impeccably clean before printing a coaster, especially for those with predominantly dark colors on the face. Otherwise, any dirt, residue, or filament wisps may become embedded in the print. Consequently, I do not recommend using glue.
Due to the intricate details in the Bloody Rancor design, the colors and design elements do not load properly on the prepare screen when viewed from underneath. However, once the design is sliced, the colors become visible in the preview and will print without any issues. Please refer to the screenshots below for clarification.
Assembly
Added to the files is a jig which helps with even placement of non-slip Silicone Pads (6 x 2mm). Which can be purchased on Amazon
May your libations be as legendary as the tales told in the Outer Rim. May the Force be with you!
Hey @w.mark.blackman, Good question due to the high level of detail in this particular design when viewed from underneath the colors/design do not load in the prepare screen. Once sliced however the colors can be seen in the preview and will print without issue.
EDIT: I too am unable to see the colors change for the Rancor model in Prepare mode. Not sure why that is. Switching to Preview mode helps. I'm still awaiting the completion of the print to see if I did this correctly.
Printed flawlessly and effortlessly, amazing work!
Filaments used:
Bone: Inland Bone PLA
Black: Elegoo Black Rapid PLA
Red: Solutech Real Red PLA
White: Duramic White PLA+
These look fantastic! Great job, I love the orange in your prints. Looks closer to the original than the red I used. Do you mind sharing what filament you used and ill update the description to add as an alternate.
Done, but I think Solutech went out of business... I actually ordered a few new spools of filament hoping to more closely match the originals, I'll post that in a few days also.
These are fantastic! I'm in the process of printing them out now, but here are a few things I've learned about the printing process so far.
- Most of the coasters share the same four colors. They are White, Black, Dark Red/Maroon, and Tan.
- One coaster, the Cantina Code, specifically uses Light and Dark Purple as well as Tan. As of the date of this writing, it is the only coaster that uses those shades of purple.
- Each coaster prints in about 45-75 minutes, most with ~20 color changes.
- White seems to have the most wasted filament of all the colors
- Printing with an AMS is a necessity. I couldn't imagine trying to print these without an AMS.
- Before printing, make certain you've assigned your colors to the correct objects. The project will not correctly detect and assign your colors to the print, even if you have the correct colors loaded in your AMS. Don't be like me. I printed two coasters (shown below) before I realized the color palettes were incorrect on each coaster.
- Make sure your print surface is extremely clean prior to printing a coaster, especially coasters with predominantly dark colors on the face. Otherwise, the print will result in noticeable color variations. (If you can see residue on the plate, clean it off or it will transfer to your coaster.)
I specifically printed my coasters with the following filaments on a P1S with a 0.4 nozzle on firmware 1.05.02.
- Polymaker PLA Matte Charcoal Black
- Polymaker PLA Matte Cotton White
- eSun PLA+ Bone White (is actually the Tan color you see in the photos)
- Polymaker PLA Matte Lava Red. (I don't recommend this red. It is too red. Maybe an eSun Fire Red is more appropriate.)
