Description

Make your own design LED lamp

With this tutorial and 3d model you can make your own shade for the bambulab led lamp set.

You just need this set: LED Lamp Kit 001, go to MAKERLAB (make my vase) and my model of base.

For now, it only works with these vase models.

INSTRUCTION:

  1. Download my model of the lamp base and print it out.
  2. Go to the makerworld website to the make my vase app: MAKERLAB
  3. Choose the type of vase. It is important that the bottom circle is 100 mm in size. See picture below.
  4. Set the rest yourself. Think that the vase must be printable. I use a wall thickness of 1mm, but for example 3mm is recommended for voronoi. So use your common sense and printability.
  5. Download .STL model
  6. Download my bambulab model DISC_CUT and open it.
  7. Now you have it like this.
  8. IMPORT YOUR DOWNLOADED MODEL OF VASE FROM MakeMyVase TO BAMBULAB.
  9. CLICK ON MOVE AND CHANGE
    1. X = 140.00
    2. Y = 140.00
    3. Z = VALUE FROM IMPORT, DONT CHANGE ANYTHING
  10. NOW SELECT YOUR VASE AND DISK BY CTRLING IN THE LEFT COLUMN BELOW THE PLATE. RIGHT-CLICK ON IT AND SELECT ASEMBLE.
  11. NOW YOU HAVE COMBINED INTO ONE MODEL (ASSEMBLY) AND WE CAN PERFORM A BOOLEAN OPERATION.
  12. LEFT-CLICK ON ASSEMBLY, THEN CLICK ON THE TOP BAR ON THE BOLEAN FUNCTION ➡️ DIFERENCE. fIRST CLICK ON BLACK VASE THEN CLICK ON ORANGE DISC (CHECK DELETE INPUT) AND CLICK ON DIFERENCE.
  13. IT'S READY. NOW IT'S JUST A MATTER OF PRINTING IT OUT AND THEN PUTTING IT TOGETHER WITH THE BASE.

thanks for the guide.. its a good start for sure but what would be perfect is to be able to screw the lamp kit properly ie not just have a hole but one of the 2 parts of the led kit that holds the led integrated in the print. if you download the led lamp kit design guide stl from maker world you can split it in 2 parts and I was trying to merge the fixed part in the vase.. see photo. I will your method 140 140 x and y and see if I can place that stl object also there and print all together.
