Kokeshi Dolls are a tradional children's toy that dates back to the 1600s. They were typically hand carved from wood and then hand painted to represent their families. Not only are they believed to bring good fortune, but they were also believed to be protectors of the children.

For Mother's day, I designed a kokeshi doll that represents the mother holding their child. It is blank so that each person is free to add their unique style and art to it. I implore you to search around and look at other kokeshi dolls. Get inspired and create yours how you like! =) Something fun and creative to do with your kids as well.

This design is split into 3 pieces so that it prints cleaner without supports. (Though depending on you and your settings a brim may be necessary). Once printed they can be glued together.
