Makerworld has significantly reduced the download/print points awarded to designers. Instead, they have introduced the "Boost" token, which you can apply to models that may not be the most popular (already gaining points from downloads and prints), but are useful or meaningful to you in general. This supports and encourages us, the "losers" (those not focusing on popular themes like Star Wars, car keychains, countless airless balls, etc.), to create more useful or niche designs.

I designed this lightbox and crafted it with paper and cardboard for my daughter a few years ago. I used pixie lights for the lightbox for safety and convenience.

My daughter and I decided to digitize the lightbox and share it with all of you. It features the most prominent protagonists from the comic: Aang, Katara, Sokka, Suki, Toph, Zuko, Appa, and Momo, encased in a box with a wood-like pattern.

I've also designed slots for the silhouette panels and holders to secure the pixie light wire in place.

To build:

1. Put up the basic frame, which includes the left, right, bottom, and front of the 'wooden' case.

2. Fit the pixie lights to the frame where you think they are most suitable for the best lighting effect. Carefully plan the wire route for the silhouette panels to slide in.

3. Slide in all silhouette panels; they should easily fit into the slots. The last panel acts as a diffuser. You can also use a 200mm x 200mm thick paper instead of printing the last panel.

4. Put on the top piece of the box lid.
 

5. Place the remaining pixie LEDs on the back piece of the box, focusing on where the sun should be. The more LEDs placed here, the brighter the sun and the better the contrast on Appa's silhouette.
 

6. Close the back of the frame and enjoy.
