Description

Collapsible bo staff toy!

Note: Disregard those print times (the profiles contain multiple plates and you dont need to print them all!)

Wanted to design something from scratch making use of collapsable geomtry and threaded inserts. Initially did it as a full assembled print in place design which worked great. But, I figured if you end up break any of the nesting blade pieces, it's difficult to replace them. So, I opened up the connection point and made a two way connector which plugs the hole. The connection point now doubles as an access points where you can insert / remove the nested blades.

Important for printing: Your bed adhesion needs to be perfect for this or it's going to fall over! Ensure you have the bed clean and add some adhesive if you have some.. I like the Bambu Liquid Glue.

I've uploaded two 3mf files. One is for a full size staff, roughly 7ft long, and the other is about 5ft long.

Both contain mulitple plates. Printing any one of the first three plates will give you everything you need all in one print!

Plate#1 - full staff with smooth exterior

Plate#2 - full staff with grippy knurled texture exterior

Plate#3 - full staff with etched knurled texture exterior

Plate#4 - just has the individual staff parts without the blades if you want to easily manipulate them

Plate#5 - has the blades but still in their nested formation

Plate#6 - has the blades all individually laid out for easy access

The 5ft model should print fine on any of Bambu Labs printers, including the A1 Mini!

The 7ft model will only fit the P1 / X1 series.

is there anyway to lock the blades in place so they dont accidently fall out/down when its turned up side down?

It's a great idea! I cant think of a solution to work into the design that would be easy though. If I ever do, I'll circle back to it

Replying to @ManofMysteryInt :
you should use magnets or a screw cap

Other Issues:Had to modify each of the extendable/sliding portions. Didn't have the tolerance to not go flying apart. Able to apply heat and shrink the diameter at one end to make things work.
