Description

This 3D-printable filament roller is designed to enhance the filament feeding process, ensuring a smooth and tangle-free experience. The assembly consists of three printed parts: two base and four rollers and two clips, along with four ball bearings, each with a 8mm inner diameter and a 22mm outer diameter. This design is tailored for direct use within Ikea Samla boxes or other dry storage containers.

 

Materials Needed:

  • 3D-printed base (2)
  • 3D-printed rollers (4)
  • 3D-printed clip (2)
  • Ball bearings with 8mm inner diameter and 22mm outer diameter (4)

Assembly Steps:

 

Print the Parts:

  • 3D print the 2 base parts and the clip and 4 rollers using your preferred filament and print settings. Ensure a sturdy and precise print for optimal performance.

Prepare the Bearings:

  • Insert the four ball bearings into the designated spaces on the rollers. Make sure they are securely seated.

Attach Rollers to the Base:

  • Place each roller onto the base, aligning the bearing slots. Ensure the rollers rotate freely around their axes.

Install in Storage Container:

  • Place the assembled filament roller into your Ikea Samla box or other dry storage container. The compact design allows for easy integration.

Secure Lid (Optional):

  • If applicable, secure the lid of your storage container to maintain a controlled and dry environment for your filament.
