Updated V2 (July 20th):

Added a spring mechanism so that the load/release is more reliable. The hinges should always fall back into place now instead of remaining open. The main part of the model is still print in place but now you must print an additional small part separately. It sacrifices a little the print- in-place philosophy of the design but should provided better functionality overall. If the springs are too stiff, I can provide thinner ones.

For V2, here are the updated print settings:

• Infill can now be anything really (I used 15%)
• supports from built plate but make sure you suppress the following region as they are not needed:
  
• 0.20 layer Hight but you could try other values

2 Parts to print: one left side and one right side.

Settings for V1:

• supports from built plate only
• 0.20 layer Hight but you could try other values
• 50% infill to add some weight to the hinging mechanism

Once both sides are printed, remove supports and snap the hinge loose (make sure to move it around a bunch of times to smoothen the hinge mechanism):

Finally, you should add some lubrications such as try PTFE spray

If you have a laser level it can really help with the mounting:

Try to space the sides in such a way that if the paper towel in sitting flush with the rights side you leave this much space on the left (maybe even a little more then what it is shown):
